We offer five workshops designed to help you or your project
teams manage all the phases of your project lifecycle. These
workshops may be taken in sequence to provide your workforce with
just-in-time training as the project evolves. Each course is
independent of the others so you can also just select a single
course.
We also conduct a workshop to prepare for the Earned Value
Professional (EVP) day long certification exam.
Our workshops are:
Our most popular courses are often held at
public
venues. For groups of students Management Technologies’ on-site training programs
are cost effective. On-site training can reduce per person training costs to a fraction
of off-site training costs. Employee travel, lodging, and meal costs are
eliminated. Employees who travel often are motivated to enroll in
courses that don’t require yet more travel. Furthermore, customized,
on-site workshops mean that each topic and every hour of training is
targeted to your training goals. All personnel attend the
same event and learn the same information. By sharing the training
experience and exercises they leave as a group that has already
experienced their first application of new skills.
Selecting which projects closely align with the organizational
strategy, risk tolerance, ROI expectations, and available
resources is key to achieving corporate goals and minimizing
project turmoil.
This workshop addresses the needs of business analysts and
others with the responsibility of selecting the best project to
address organizational or customer needs. Attendees will learn
the twelve steps in performing a business case analysis through
discussion and workshop exercises. The twelve-step process
begins with defining the project objectives and concludes with
the project charter. This workshop addresses the ranking of
alternate strategies through the evaluation of tangible and
intangible benefits and costs. MS Excel is used with our
training templates to list, rank, and score various
alternatives. Templates may be retained by attendees to
implement business case analysis in their organization. This
workshop also includes exercises in essential tools for the
analyst including Decision Analysis and Mind Mapping.

Once the best possible course of action is determined the
project is initiated. The next step is project planning and
scheduling.
This workshop will introduce your project managers or project
teams to the principles of project planning and scheduling.
Attendees will work through an entire project using the PMI®
PMBOK® project processes of Initiation, Planning, Control,
Execution, and Closeout. You will learn how to get consensus on
the tasks to be done and the sequence of activities. Exercises
will teach methods to obtain realistic cost and schedule
estimates. The various roles of project managers are discussed
to help empower the project manager and project team. When
conducted on-site this workshop can use your project as the
project scenario. The workshop products can be used later by
your project team.

Once the project is underway, earned value data may be
passed to analysts to review cost and schedule variances and
estimated outcomes. One common tool to help analysts review earned
value data is Deltek's wInsight®
Our "Insight-to-wInsight"™ workshop is a two-day
hands on workshop that provides both wInsight users and wInsight
administrators the knowledge needed to perform their
functions.
A wInsight custom registry file
is provided at no charge. This
customized registry file contains over 35 filters, 45 views, 24
charts, and 2 reports. These views and filters allow the analyst to efficiently assess data
validity, analyze cumulative performance, evaluate estimate-at-complete realism, forecast future performance, and integrate cost,
schedule, and risk performance. Custom charts allow quick
comparison of trend data over time and take advantage of
wInsight's new capabilities for dual axes and bar charts. The two
custom reports provide four methodologies for assessing the
realism of the estimate at completion. This registry file is used
extensively as part of the hands on training, and will be
invaluable for analysts to use after training is complete.
Students will receive a copy of Earned Value Associates’ 200
page manual, Guide to Mastering wInsight, packed with
hundreds of tested techniques for harnessing the power of
wInsight.
The wInsight course is divided into two sections.
The basic wInsight section addresses the needs of wInsight
users. After completing this training users will be effective in
using wInsight® to analyze earned value management data. This
course is twelve hours (1.5 days).
The wInsight Administrator section addresses the needs of
wInsight administrators. Attendees will be effective in setting
up data import and export, users, contracts, and customer
reporting. This is a four hour course. Attendees should have
